I have a confession to make. I am a complete Brady Bunch nerd. I've seen every episode a million times, went to see BOTH movies BY MYSELF, and have a dog eared copy of "Growing Up Brady" by Barry Williams (aka Greg) which includes a summary of each and every episode.

My sister Amy (also a BBN) and I once stayed up all night watching a Brady Bunch marathon just so we could compare the accuracy of each and every summary that was in the book. Yes. We did. And I have to admit, I am more than happy that my almost two-year old will sit quietly and watch episodes of The Brady Bunch while I get dinner ready. Hey, it's wholesome!!!

Anyway, Florence Henderson (the snappy fashion wearing, flip 'do and perpetually happy Carol Brady) will always be remembered for her role as TV's favorite mother. However, today, Henderson has become a voice for a much different audience: senior citizens.

Henderson created the FloH Club, an organization that assists senior citizens with understanding and embracing technology, as she explained in Dear Doctor magazine. "I was inspired to create the FloH Club because of my own fear of technology and I didn't want to keep asking my children for help."

Henderson was also blessed with naturally straight teeth and has had no cosmetic work done, however she isn't opposed to it. "I wouldn't care how old I was, if I had misaligned teeth or felt I needed cosmetic dentistry I certainly would do it!"

However, many adults don't want to wear the traditional braces. (Or kids for that matter. Remember when Marcia had to get braces and she screamed in a fit of tears she was, "Ugly! Ugly! Ugly!"? )

No? Just me? Oh.

A good alternative is clear orthodontic aligners. They are an excellent way for adults to align their teeth without looking like an older, and awkward teenager. Clear aligners are usually recommended for correcting mild to moderate spacing problems or crowding of the teeth and cases where there are no major issues with your bite.

If you think you need any orthodontic work, contact our office and we'll be happy to refer you to some great orthodontists.

And remember, if you do need braces, don't worry about looking ugly and not being asked to the dance at Fillmore Junior High. It's just a part of growing up. Brady.
