Patient Spotlight: Chris Bentley with Live Fresh Palm Beach County
Sometimes a new patient will walk through the door and they will amaze us by their line of work. This is what happened when we met Chris Bentley.
In March 2016, Chris and his friend Carlos Miller started Live Fresh Palm Beach County. The two Palm Beach natives had lived in New York City previously and saw how homeless men, women and children were being treated, despite their obvious inability to fix their current situation. They knew that dignity and feeling good could be achieved with something as simple as as a shower. Having a special connection to West Palm Beach, they decided to return home and start their mobile shower vision.
Chris applied for a grant from Impact Palm Beach, a local philanthropic community run by local women leaders in the community. Live Fresh's mission of offering mobile showers to homeless mothers, fathers and children was quickly embraced by Impact and Live Fresh was named Impact's FIRST $100,000 Grant Recipient, enabling the organization to purchase its first mobile shower unit.
Shortly after their launch, the media buzz around Live Fresh was impressive. They soon began to receive inquiries from the media as well as from individuals and homeless service providers from around the United States. Organizations wanted to know how they could use the Live Fresh model so that they could restore dignity in their communities.
Chris was then introduced to Richard Campillo, a retired Fortune 100 Senior Executive who was immediately impressed with Live Fresh and had a heart for its mission.Chris and Richard collaborated and launched Live Fresh, Inc., as a way to expand beyond the bounds of Palm Beach County.
Live Fresh, Inc. is a low cost, mobile, turnkey solution that enables organizations and communities to provide homeless men, women and children with a fresh shower, personal hygiene essentials and the opportunity to Live Fresh: Feeling Revitalized Encourages Sustainable Happiness.
