Taking care our children's teeth should be one of our highest priorities. Not only does it teach them good oral habits from an early beginning, it also gives them a good head start for having healthy teeth and gums for the rest of their lives.

Pediatricians and dentists are making strides to start these good habits as soon as the baby teeth start coming in. Even if you wipe your baby's teeth with a clean wash rag, it helps to remove the plaque build up from the milk or formula. As the child gets older, the parent can use a child's toothbrush with a small amount of fluoride-free toothpaste to help brush their teeth.

We recommend your child have his/her first dentist visit by the time he/she is one year old.

By getting preventative care early, you are not only preventing your child from being in discomfort but you are also preventing a lifetime of dental fears, not to mention saving money. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that the cost of dental care was 40% lower over a five-year period for children who received dental care by the age of one.
